I've downloaded test-net blockchain content, but when I click Develop->Start mining, nothing happens:

cantmine

I have also made screenshot of my console. How can I fix it? Is this a bug?

Version: 1.6.6
OS & Version: windows 7
Node type: eth/geth

I don't think there is a proper indication on ethereum-wallet. Use Mist and you will at least see the hashrate.

Also, it takes a while before you get any test ether.

@sathishvj , so isnt it a bug?

Same story with lastest Mist. Checkbox is not checkable, and some strange error message in console:

mist_dont_mine

Yeah, I'd think so.

I don't have windows, but on a mac it is not a checkbox but an icon (of a pickaxe).
Is it properly installed?

That line seems to be here (

log.info('miner_start', ret.result);
) and it isn't very indicative what the issue is. If you can, back up any accounts that you need, reinstall, and try again. Otherwise wait for the devs to respond.

I've the same problem. Cannot mine any test ether in testnet. Ethereum node is Get 1.6.6
No indication of mining whatsoever. It's a fresh installation of Ethereum Wallet.

EthereumWallet doesn't seem to have an indication for mining in the UI. But I'm able to see it with Mist. Give it a try.

How do I do that? I'm a newbie. Can you give me some steps to start with?

https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases

Mist is released along with Ethereum Wallet. You can run it exactly the same way. It will use the same wallet files and chaindata.

Are you using Mist? If not use that as in the conversation above. At least there should be an indication of the hashrate.
