Gitpan is a project to automatically generate a Git repository for every CPAN distribution. It does this from CPAN releases, not from developer repositories. The broad goal is to provide a predictable, reliable way for users to examine and work with any CPAN distribution regardless of how its developed.

Gitpan has not been updated for years and is currently starting over fresh. Things are in a big state of flux.

How Can I Help?

Patch the code

There's large swaths of the code missing, lots of green fields. The rewrite strives to be built from isolated pieces and each part should be a mental morsel.

Review the code

Pick a commit and leave some comments. Even "looked it over and it looks good" is helpful.

Comment on what you'd use Gitpan for

Leave an issue about what you'd use something like Gitpan for.
