jessme : JS me / JavaScript me

Hummm... really just a bunch of javascript libs out there as Git submodules (nothing "useful" at the moment)... Let's say I'm just waking up from a profound sleep of about 5 years, to discover how vast the JavaScript ecosystem has grown into.

Hence this is somewhat of a bookmarking repository, or just a playground for client-side JS matters.

See .gitmodules and vendor/.

Install

# Check me out :
git clone git://github.com/Oeil-de-nuit/jessme.git

# List them all
git submodule status --recursive

# Check out what you want :
git submodule update --init --recursive vendor/jquery vendor/Bootstrap ...

# Or if you want to stress test GitHub network :-)
time \
   git submodule update --init [--recursive]

Note: Take care, it ends up weighting about 2.5 GB at the moment with --init only ; 3.7 GB with --recursive !

Note: Specifically vendor/processing-js would checkout The-Nature-of-Code book which is about 1.2 GB alone.

Misc. notes :

List them all with, e.g. :

git submodule status --recursive

# Vendor list + last tag found + last commit :
git --no-pager submodule foreach --quiet --recursive 'echo -ne "$path\t`git tag|tail -n1`\t"; git log -1 --oneline --decorate'

# Including the last 5 tags :
git --no-pager submodule foreach --quiet --recursive 'echo -ne "$path\t$(echo -n `git tag|tail -n5`)\t"; git log -1 --oneline --decorate'

# Nicer output helps :
$ git ... | column -s '^V<TAB>' -t

Etc...

# Bash into each submodule (use exit 1 for stopping) :
git submodule foreach 'bash'

# Likewise but list tags and last commit prior to entering shell :
git submodule foreach '$OLDPWD/bin/git_tags_and_last_commit.sh; bash;'
