Not ported from v1 yet, which was env.connection_attempts and -n/--connection-attempts. This was purely Fabric level functionality (not part of Paramiko) and involved the connection attempts loop. May need some thinking about how best to reimplement cleanly, whether it should get pushed into Paramiko instead, etc.

it aint ported yet and it seems that it is a solution for the banner issue in some case: see #2157
any chance for having it fixed anytime soon?
