Fixes #359

Related: #327

Includes @ssteinerx's branch, plus:

  • Keeps current fabric support for python 2.x
  • Some python six / missing imports
  • Using this branch in production now and it deployed successfully (!)
  • Adds 3.6 to travis

I'm currently using this to deploy to production
