LRU Cache

A least-recently-used in-memory cache.

Adding more than a configurable maximum number of items to a LRUCache object causes the least-recently-used item to be purged.

Usage

LRUCache = (require 'lru-cache').LRUCache
max_item_count = 3
c = new LRUCache max_item_count
c.put 'A', 1
c.put 'B', 2
c.put 'C', 3
c.put 'D', 4  # A purged; least to most used: BCD
c.get 'B' # least to most used: CDB
c.put 'E', 5  # C purged; least to most used: DBE
c.remove 'B' # least to most used: DE

Tests

Run unit tests with: nodeunit test.coffee

Notes

Based on a doubly-linked list. Operations are O(1).
