The path printed in case something went wrong during the build-process was not the full expanded path. This can be misleading in some situations. Also it's much better to output the full path, so that it can be easily copied directly from the terminal emulator into the editor-open-dialog.
Ruby's OpenSSL in version 1.8.7 had a problem that wouldn't pick automatically SSL_CERT_FILE and required manual setting as `ca_file` on the HTTP instance. This attempts to workaround this issue for those poor souls that are still using Ruby 1.8.7 and need to download stuff from HTTPS connections.
