choices: { 'name': 'with name containing %1$s', 'author': 'with author containing %1$s'}

in case of ['author', 'name'], it should generate

'with name containing <name>, with author containing <author>'

in case of ['name', 'name'], it should generate

'with name containing <name>, <name>'

What did it generate instead?

The first case is intriguing – can you produce more debugging output/information? The second case sounds reasonable.

In any case, use e.g.

'title,author': 'Called %2$s, written by %1$s'

to implement what you need.

Forgot to add a key, already does most of it.
