In CSS you can tell things which border top/bottom/right/left you want
visible, or which has properties set. I noticed that flot has
grid.borderWidth but you cannot set a specific side. This seems to do with
the canvas border draw command is set rectangle. It could instead set 4
lines with specific properties.
I think that it would be nice to allow flot to show or hide sides. I like
the way that google charts does the border, with the top border missing. See
the attached screenshot. It would be nice if flot could do that as well.

I agree. I was surprised I couldn't have a graph with just the axes, but have to have it stuck in a box (although I made well have misunderstood something).

I want this feature too! :) Currently I cannot style the graph to match the styling of all the other graphs on my site :(
