Crash on open even after clean re-install #332
Comments
Thank you for reporting this and sorry for the trouble. Does it crash every time, or did it only happen once? |
(Just realized that you wrote "even after re-install" so I'm assuming it happens every time.) To get fman working again, please disable fman's automatic updates and install the previous version. Sorry for the trouble. I'm looking into this immediately. |
@andreifecioru does this version work for you? It's an attempt at a fix I just created but may or may not work. |
@mherrmann I have tried the version you linked in your response. It still crashes. Seems to be a nasty one... keep digging. I posted the crash report below (hope it helps):
|
@mherrmann since we are trying arbitrary builds, I have no issue with installing a debug version (if you have one) to give you more info than a stack dump... |
@andreifecioru thanks, I don't know if the debug info will help much because the problem is (I'm pretty confident) not caused by fman's source code, but by its libraries. I uploaded a new version. Can you try again? |
I just released fman 0.9.2 that (I hope) will fix the problem. Can you re-install and let me know whether it works? |
I'll test it tomorrow when I get to work. |
Okay great thanks. |
I have this problem too. Doesn't seem to be fixed after clean install of 0.9.2 |
For reference: all the versions (9.1 and 9.2) are working fine for me on macOS 10.13.3 (17D102). I have python 2.7.14 and 3.6.4 installed and used on my system. |
I confirm that the latest version I have downloaded from the official site works for me now (no crash). Thanks! |
Yay, thank god. Thanks! |
Are you sure you're still experiencing the issue with 0.9.2 @genecivillico? |
I'm afraid so - just did a clean re-install with 0.9.3 and it still happens

@vaidotas-adf does http://download.fman.io/0.9.0/fman.dmg work for you? |
@genecivillico what's your macOS version? Which error do you get? |
@mherrmann Yes, 0.9.0 works. Productivity restored |
@vaidotas-adf happy to hear that works at least. Can I still ask you (and you @genecivillico) to try this snapshot version, which I just prepared? If it works for you now then I will make this one the new release. |
Snapshot version crashes. This time I'm getting "Segmentation fault: 11" error, when starting fman from command line directly (from inside of fman.app directory). Last time I got at least some verbose error message.
|
Thank you @mherrmann http://download.fman.io/0.9.0/fman.dmg works for me |
The new 0.9.4 snapshot works for me, thanks!

@vaidotas-adf I uploaded a new version of the snapshot. Sorry for this endless back and forth, but you could try again please? |
Yes, new version of snapshot is working. Glad to help testing. |
Thank you very much everyone. I just released fman 0.9.4 that should hopefully fix the problem. I also wrote a blog post about the past few days battling with this problem. |
Below is the crash log:
