Please add pages for "taxon" items (instance of Q16521), similar to those for "disease" items ( https://tools.wmflabs.org/scholia/disease/ )

Use parent taxon (P171) to build a taxonomic tree.

Link to the taxon author (P405; often as a qualifier of taxon name, P225), and to related papers.

@pigsonthewing, single fields is a bit tricky, and not something Scholia excels in ...

But making some progress:

I will also try to figure out a tree visualization of this...

Literature about this species will follow, as will the "genome"... (and pondering about other omes...)...

And what about symbionts? That is something @larsgw is looking into for the Pinus...

Taking some ideas from e.g. https://species.wikimedia.org/wiki/Parus_major and other Wikispecies pages, some or all of the following could be displayed:

List of subspecies (or, for other ranks, next-lower ranks)
Taxon author citation (covered by Egon, above)
Image(s)/Commons link
Audio
Synonyms
Vernacular names
Etymology ("named after" - consider, for example, https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q29367343 )
External links
Location of type specimen
