I am already working on a merge. There are several changes that need to be merged from upstream. I appreciate your effort on this. Please wait for my update.
update for hpfog 0.0.16
i need it for my testing. can it go into the next release
@neillturner - I'm going to defer to @rupakg on this.
@rupakg - do you have a rough sense of how soon that stuff might be ready?
@geemus @neillturner I would say it will at least 3 weeks out. I am traveling and have a vacation coming. Please bear with me. I would plan smaller updates going forward. Can we close this pull request?
Thanks. If it does not make the next fog release I will release my own gem on rubygems until it does

Any updates on this and hpfog 0.0.17?
Hey @rupakg , how goes it? Anything I can help with?
It seems that hpfog 0.0.18 is out now, though it doesn't seem to be mentioned in the docs:
- add support for controlled access via cross-tenant ACLs
- add support for creating bootable volumes
- add support for creating persistent server instances using bootable volumes
The code diff is larger than I expected:
I guess @rupakg has been busy. ;)
HP now has some fairly decent (and completely rewritten) API documentation live, and what I see suggests there have been backend changes as well as it differs somewhat from previously observed behavior:
@ttilley I have been very busy. The docs match the hpfog version 0.0.18 that is downloadable from the hpcloud.com site. I should be able to merge my changes soon.
@rupakg hpfog 0.0.18 doesn't appear to support user-data, which is fairly critical for my use. I've done a quick one-off patch just to support it on top of upstream fog:
...unless the version tagged as 0.0.18 has changed since 21 days ago, which I guess I should probably check
which is exactly the case! nevermind then, i'll dig into the code to see what else has changed. =]
[01:46:01][~]$ md5 hpfog-0.0.18.gem
MD5 (hpfog-0.0.18.gem) = d9e0a2ab82a2cf48b4d161a19bffdbe1
[01:46:07][~]$ rm hpfog-0.0.18.gem ; wget -c https://docs.hpcloud.com/file/hpfog-0.0.18.gem
[01:46:25][~]$ md5 hpfog-0.0.18.gem
MD5 (hpfog-0.0.18.gem) = 2e1ab683b00e4da48a26b496de429f65
nope, still no user-data support in hpfog 0.0.18.
@rupakg - anything I can do to facilitate and/or make the merge easier for you?
@geemus I am trying to get this done this holiday. I will reach out to you. Thanks for your help.
@rupakg - sure thing. I definitely understand, I also have more than one patch that is todo on holiday :(
@rupakg - I would again like to offer myself as a resource, as well, if I can help in any way.
Fixed in #1505. @neilturner @ttilley I appreciate your patience.
