Super exciting!! Looking forward to your work! You might want to run the script Thanks again! |
|
@malyvsen look!! |
|
Review and suggestions are very welcome @malyvsen. We could use ogarniacz paczek here. 😉 |
|
Dziękuję!! I noticed that "frontmatter" was translated to "Część wstępna". Maybe you can also include the word "frontmatter" somewhere in the description? It's a specific term used by SSG systems like https://gohugo.io/content-management/front-matter/ and I could not find documentation for this online when searching for "Część wstępna". |
For some words, it's difficult to find suitable equivalents. I am not so sure if Część wstępna is even appropriate translation of frontmatter. I will probably change it to something else when I review it once again before changing status of this PR from draft to ready. I will mention frontmatter in the description for comprehensibility. |

Awesome! In the German localization we found that the "Live Docs" text in German is longer than in English, and the button names are clipping. #3325 (comment) Maybe you can think about ideas for the Polish version :) |
|
@s-zymon I don't think mikolaj will have time to review, how do you feel about this PR now? |
Front matter is translated as "strona wstępna".
|
@fonsp I haven't had time to deal with the latest changes recently, but now everything is ready to be merged. |

Super awesome!!! I have one question (based on automated translation tools because I don't speak Polish): It looks like there are some places that use gendered language in the masculine form, like "Skontaktuj się z twórcami {{package}}.jl w sprawie tego błędu." or "Dodaj autor". In some other languages, we used inclusive language in these cases. See e.g. the discussions in #3333 and #3325. How would you approach this in Polish? |
Disclaimer: I am not a linguist, just an average users, and opinions are my own. Polish is a strongly gendered language, requiring speakers to assign a gender (masculine, feminine, or neuter) to every noun, which then influences the forms of adjectives, pronouns, and verbs that agree with them. There are no gender neutral forms toward a person and using neuter for adult person is unusual and often offensive. The masculine form is usually used as the default when gender is unknown or mixed. In the case of "Skontaktuj się z twórcami", we can change it to "Skontaktuj się z osobami tworzącymi {{package}}.jl w sprawie tego błędu.", that can be roughly translated as "Contact the people developing {{package}}.jl". In the case of the "Dodaj autora", the alternatives are following:
I would stick with "Dodaj osobę autorską" since is quite popular neologism and I guess more inclusive. However, I am not sure if it's correct. ;) |

Aha, thanks for all the info, super interesting! It sounds like you found a good solution, thanks! 👍 Can you check my last commit to do the same for "developers of Pluto" in |
Auto translation definitely didn't do a good job here, "zespół twórczy" sounds pretty horrible. It should be "przez zespół tworzący Pluto...". |

Thanks! Corrected in e444edf |
