Perhaps I am very much a latecomer but I've finally tried the Steam release and can't catch anyone on. Development seems to be at a standstill. I would be more than willing to help out but I would need to use Wine for virtually anything since I've been a dedicated Linux user for over 5 years now (this is a flaw with Valve tools being virtually un-portable outside of Windows, i.e Hammer). Are the developers still around and is there a "roadmap" for the future, or is FF essentially done for/complete?
I was looking at issue #331 and I think its a good question. Porting FF to a newer version of Source, perhaps Source 2013, would not only improve graphical fidelity but should also allow exporting to OSX/Linux and fix some legacy cruft. For example, it seems that FF uses Internet Explorer to download custom content. I'm not sure if this was a behavior of Source or the mod, but I'm assuming that Source at the time did this, as I have not seen such behavior from newer versions of Source (even the Windows ports).
I'm just asking this because FF is outside the "casual" status, meaning I only ever see people on FF for pickups instead of just playing casually. Its a shame as someone who mostly plays TFC (which itself is at the mercy of the few people who still get on).
