In windows if you right click > properties on a thunderbird shortcut and change 'Run' from normal window to minimized window then thunderbird will start minimized but doesn't get sent to the tray.
The purpose of this is to have, in the Start folder, a shortcut to thunderbird so that when windows starts thunderbird also gets started and then minimized to the tray.
from your description, I understand your goal is to start the application hidden to tray.
If I'm correct, then FireTray has an option for that. It works when the application is started as a normal window. It also works with a shortcut in the Starup folder.
I agree that it does not work with property Run=minimized though. I'll see what I can do.
Thanks, i'll change the shortcut to run the window as regular. It would probably be good for avoiding further confusion for people like me (who tried to do this without plugins first) if it was fixed to work with Run=minimized though.
Should be fixed in 9a4d379. Tested under WinXP. I'll test under other windows flavors when possible.
Tested on Win7 as well.
Note: FireTray respects the user's choice to start minimized or maximized, when restoring from the hidden state.
