Put erpnext Version Number in Footer of application or in Tools > Web Notes Framework About box. Or somewhere else that can be easily found by average users.

This is for the hosted and open source versions.

Purposes:

  1. Let's users know what version they are using in case they want to report an error.
  2. Gives users confidence that if they are using the hosted version, they can swiftly move to their own server using the same version -- confidence of no vendor lock in.
  3. Helps erpnext developers know what users are using when errors, etc. are being reported.
