No, it looks like that was just a revert. They seem to have come down from BSD 4.4 Lite en masse 23 years ago: 057afce (r2490).

Is this result of a "grep -i hitler" ?

Frankly speaking i don't see them as propaganda and some actually are more insightful than it looks, for example:

The fact that Hitler was a political genius unmasks the nature of politics
in general as no other can.

Since they were there since 1994 i'd say it is quite clear they are not any sort of propaganda so, can i ask to keep them for sake of freedom of speech?

As someone said: "There is a road to freedom. Its milestones are Obedience, Endeavor, Honesty,
Order, Cleanliness, Sobriety, Truthfulness, Sacrifice, and love of the
Fatherland."

i would rather not adhere to the principles explained above.

Given that the fortune datfiles have now been removed I don't see the point in continuing this discussion. FreeBSD is no longer in the business of distributing quotes.
