Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of Fair Use Building and Research Labs A New Jersey Nonprofit Organization held February 19, 2018 at the Organization's space. The meeting was brought to order at 7:30 pm by Eric Rivas, Chairperson and President. Quorum was established.
The following board members were present:

- Beth Ritter-Guth, Vice President
- Jenny Shane, Secretary
- Neil Flynn, Treasurer
- Zoltan Sisko, Trustee
- Rick Anderson, Trustee
- Jean Consorti, Trustee
The following members were present:
- Brian Boccardi
- Bill George
Working with Neil and Jean to reconcile books
Meetup is terrible.
Nothing to report.
Discrepancy between quickbooks and bank account, likely rent check.
Performed mini alignment on the laser.
Treasurer recommends keeping dues at current cost.
Jean: we need to keep raising money through classes and kits. Electric bill keeps going up. Zoltan is reviewing electric bill records.
Fubar used to have a guest book. Waivers give us no contact information.
Adding a guestbook on top of the waiver might be too much work.
All names in the previous guestbook are still available in a mailing list.
Rick suggests automating a follow-up email. Automated form might incorporate donations.
Could use a raspberry pi station for guestbook. Could use a google docs form.
Rick will take point (after Bell Works). There will be a discussion after the next member meeting.
Laser cutter needs an upgraded venting system. Cost will be under $75. We need a blower with better capacity and a system that fits the laser cutter better. Project is approved.
Could try a gofundme for the laser fund. Could then use any guestbook mailing list. But we should contact the list before we ask for money to weed out disinterest.
Having a newsletter might make donation more attractive.
No place for people to sign up and pledge for the laser fund. Need a better display.
Also, we need to mark that the refrigerator is only for food and drink no chemicals.
Need to add fundraising back to member meeting agenda.
Need better signage for donation box.
Neil: we should encourage people to charge money for lecture-style classes.
We can also encourage any people holding classes and workshops to tell people to donate. This should be mentioned at the member meeting.
New wiki will begin with minutes starting from this year. The new wiki is located at https://github.com/fubarlabs/fubarlabs.github.io/wiki
We need a new descriptor to describe events which are hosted by members at fubar but which are not fubar labs events. We need to specify that these events are not monetarily related to fubar. Going forward, all public fubar events on meetup must go through the fubar register.
Everyone hates meetup but there is no better alternative.
Beth will change the link to the wiki on the website.
We are still missing some photos of members, but otherwise the wall is complete. Zoltan intends to add another row to fill in. We need to move the medals on the wall to make space.
Nobody is in charge of any of the social media accounts
Thursday evening is trailer packing day, Friday around 5pm is setup at Bell Works. We need to be set up by 9am on Saturday. Eric has volunteered to referee for any external power racing.
We would like volunteers to arrive by 7:30am on Saturday.
We need to organize food.
Jean has announced an official fubar hotel. Registrations should be done ASAP.
David Peins will have a training session for any volunteers for the event.
