About GCC2022
The 2022 Galaxy Community Conference (GCC2022) brings together hundreds of researchers, trainers, tool developers, software engineers, and computational infrastructure providers, all addressing common challenges in data intensive science using the Galaxy data integration and analysis platform.
This annual gathering of the Galaxy community includes training, talks, posters, demos, Birds of a Feather meetups, and many other opportunities for collaboration and networking. There is no better event to share your work and learn form others working in data-intensive science.
University of Minnesota, Twin Cities
GCC2022 will be held at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States.
Campus is a city within a city, close to engaging neighborhoods, cultural attractions, public art and greenspace, restaurants, and much more. Campus straddles the Mississippi River and no matter where you are, you're never far from nature with parks, trails, and waterways just a short walk away.
Minneapolis-St. Paul
The University of Minnesota is located in the heart of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul Minnesota. The two downtowns are less than 10 miles apart and are connected by rapid transit that goes right through campus. The Twin Cities offer a vibrant cultural, music, sports, and entertainment scene, with great access to the outdoors. The Twin Cites are one of the most livable metro areas in the United States.

MSI works to provide state-of-the-art compute and storage solutions to meet new demands and to serve as a nexus for meaningful collaborations.
GalaxyP
GalaxyP Project is a multi-omics informatics platform. The focus of the platform is integrative analysis of genomics, transcriptomics and mass spectrometry-based proteomics and metabolomics data. Galaxy-P is being actively developed by the Griffin research group at the University of Minnesota in collaboration with the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute.

ISMB + BOSC 2022
July 10-14, Madison
ISMB 2022, which will include BOSC 2022 runs July 10-14 in nearby Madison, Wisconsin, just a 70 minute plane ride, or a 4 hour drive away. If you attend ISMB/BOSC, you will have Friday, July 15 for travel from Madison. (Madison is another great upper Midwestern city, with lots of water and activity.)

Twin Cities Beach Blast, July 17, featuring Milk Carton Boat Races (really) and a Sand Castle Competition on Bde Maka Ska (formerly Lake Calhoun).
Aquatennial (including Carifest)
July 20-23, Minneapolis
Aquatennial the biggest celebration in Minneapolis's summer, is held July 20-23, nicely overlapping with the last half of GCC2022. Aquatennial includes parades, concerts, water ski shows (!), Major League Baseball (go Twins), Carifest, and fireworks (to mark the end of GCC!).

MSP International Airport
The Minneapolis St. Paul Airport (MSP) is a major domestic and international airport, a hub for Delta Airlines, and is served by 18 airlines with direct flights to 44 US states, Canada, Europe and Mexico.
From ISMB / BOSC
If you are coming from ISMB in Madison, you have several options:
- Fly 70 minutes, direct.
- Drive 4 hours through the rolling hills of western Wisconsin.
- Bus, 6 hours, and let someone else do the driving (between $1 and $50, see Wanderu and MegaBus ).
Getting Around
Minneapolis St. Paul has a robust public transportation network, and features buses, bus rapid transit, and light rail, including trams that run from the airport (1 transfer) and bus station (direct) to campus. All conference venues and official lodging will be within walking distance of each other.
