DediConnect billing changes

In todays update we're rolling out an update affecting DediConnect billing.

First I'd like to thank everyone that voted on the DediConnect poll earlier! Your feedback is much appreciated.

Summary

• DediConnect subscriptions are phased out. New machines no longer require subscriptions.
• For installing game servers & services on DediConnect you may need Add-ons.
• New Add-on option added "DediConnect slots".
• Services like MySQL and Syncthing count towards DediConnect slots.
• Your first game server on DediConnect is free!

Why are we making this change

We want to make DediConnect easier and more straightforward for existing and new customers.

How will this change things

New customers can test whether DediConnect works with their machine, without having to pay anything. This makes it much easier for everyone to get familiar with DediConnect and makes it less time consuming for GSA to deal with refund requests.

Another situation we hope to address with this update is when customers use virtualisation to split a machine into multiple machines. With the old license model this required multiple subscriptions, making it unattractive. The new system no longer cares how many machines you have connected.

And finally this update will help group payments into a single charge for customers using DediConnect, per month.

How will this affect existing DediConnect customer

Existing customers can convert existing machines to use the new Add-on billing system. We created a special form on the Billing page, for your machine. You can find the billing page by going to the machine settings, on your dashboard.
While converting is not required, we will at some point in the future require all DediConnect subscriptions to end.

Note
Services like MySQL and Syncthing will count towards your DediConnect slots.
