Huawei E3531 No dialvoice possible #316
I've seen the update for Gammu to version 1.38.4 and in this version, the support for huawei e3531 is improved
I have this stick with the id 12d1:1001. I use Kubuntu 16.04.2.
All i get is:
echo "test" | ./gammu-1.38.4/build-configure/gammu sendsms TEXT "Number"
The protocol is in the attachment.
Is it a Bug ore is it my fault?

It seems that Huawei devices are by default configured not to allow voice calls. Follwoing AT commands might help:
AT^CVOICE=0 Enable Voice
AT^U2DIAG=0 – switch the device in modem mode only
As this setup is very specific for each modem and some need disabling card reader at same time, Gammu probably won't every do this automatically....
For the record it seems a lot of the new Huawei modems have voice switched off (tested E303, E353s-2 and E3531s-2). You can find older voice-enabled firmwares if you look around. Sometimes only certain operator/reseller firmwares have it enabled. So not a software issue, this ticket should probably be closed.
For E3531s-1 there's Kazakhstan's Kcell version with voice https://3ginfo.ru/downloads1160.html
I gambled and installed it on my E3531s-2 (different model), seems to work flawlessly. If you're not afraid to brick your device you can install service versions of firmware which then allow any other firmware to be installed (unrelated models, unsigned, unfinished etc) so proceed with caution.
For all E3531's there's a service firmware here: https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=https%3A%2F%2F4pda.ru%2Fforum%2Findex.php%3Fshowtopic%3D553049%26st%3D940%23Spoil-60987245-2
