I've installed latest build and created config as below, but have an issue where the USB modem is not powered on automatically when using the daemon. I have to stop the system service, run gammu setpower on, then start the service again before it will work.

Compiled in features:
OS support:
  - SHM
  - DAEMON
  - PID
  - ALARM
  - GETOPT
  - GETOPT_LONG
  - SYSLOG
Backend services:
  - NULL
  - FILES
  - MYSQL
  - POSTGRESQL
  - DBI
  - ODBC

Configuration file.

# Configuration file for Gammu SMS Daemon

# Gammu library configuration, see gammurc(5)
[gammu]
port = /dev/ttyUSB2
connection = at
# Debugging
#logformat = textall

# SMSD configuration, see gammu-smsdrc(5)
[smsd]
service = sql
driver = native_mysql
logfile = /var/log/gammu-smsd.log
user = user
password = pass
pc = localhost
database = gammu
RunOnReceive = /usr/bin/gammu-auto-reply.sh
#ResetFrequency = 30

# Increase for debugging information
debuglevel = 2

Any ideas on getting it to issue a power on command via the daemon on startup?

It should do that in case the modem does not connect to network. Can you please provide debug log? See https://wammu.eu/support/bugs/
