When attaching an LG a290 (which is unlisted, the phone prompts with "connect as: 1) mass storage 2) COM 3) java", I select "COM". Then /var/log/syslog shows the device was discovered as ttyACM0. Doing ls /dev/serial/by-id/ gives usb-MediaTek_Inc_A290-if00 and doing ls /dev/serial/by-path/ gives pci-0000:00:1d.7-usb-0:1.2:1.0. So it all looks good AFAIK. Running the Wammu wizard and choosing auto config -- USB gives:

Wammu is now searching for phone:
Checking /dev/ttyACM0 - ['at19200', 'at115200', 'fbusdlr3', 'fbus', 'mbus', 'fbuspl2303']
Finished /dev/ttyACM0 - ['at19200', 'at115200', 'fbusdlr3', 'fbus', 'mbus', 'fbuspl2303']
All finished, found 0 phones
No phone has been found!

I look in the code for LG phones and find only one phone, even though the LG db lists 3 pages of supported phones.
