Thanks for raising this and for using the app! It really means a lot to know people are getting value out of it. 😉

I'm going to keep the MCP server stdio-only for now though, it's intentionally tiny (pure stdlib, no external deps) and adding HTTP/SSE would multiply the surface area: async rewrite, sessions, auth, CORS, etc. Also, the MCP spec apparently deprecated pure SSE in favor of Streamable HTTP (just learned that myself after a quick google), so not so sure about that one.

Good news though: your use case is already solved by mcp-proxy, which wraps any stdio MCP server and exposes it over SSE without me having to implement anything: 😋

mcp-proxy --port 3000 -- docker run --rm -i -e NOTEDISCOVERY_URL=http://host.docker.internal:8000 ghcr.io/gamosoft/notediscovery:latest python -m mcp_server

(The -- separator is required so mcp-proxy doesn't try to interpret --rm as one of its own flags.)

Then point your client at http://your-host:3000/sse. You stay in control of the auth and network exposure to suit your setup of course.

I smoke-tested it on my end but haven't gone end-to-end through a real client yet, so give it a try and let me know how it goes!
