I am collecting data on a cell phone so screen space is at a premium. Currently if I open a form, there are three rows at the top assigned for listing form sections. If the form has only one section, then this feature is not helpful. It results in only one field being visible when the keyboard is up. If the form sections control was not displayed, I would be able to see two of the fields in a simple form at once without scrolling. That would help.
There are other solutions such as having only one row for the form sections control and having a drop down menu instead of vertically stacked buttons. Perhaps there could even be a row of three controls as follows: [2. back] [3. tree diameter^] [4. next]. The number in the button or drop-down would indicate would indicate the number of the form section.
