  1. Make (almost) sure timeout alarm does not happen while outside eval {}.

    Gisle Aas authored
    More parsing of die/croak message tweeks.
  2. Remove newline from response message when we can't obtain a protocol

    Gisle Aas authored
    handler. "Protocol scheme '' is not supported".

    There's still a couple of bugs in LWP::Protocol::ftp that I submitted
    a patch for a couple of weeks ago. The first is a lack of checking the
    return value from Net::FTP::new; the second is using Net::FTP::message
    in a list context when a scalar value is desired.

    --------------------------

    Also changed from "new HTTP::Response" to "HTTP::Response->new" syntax
    because I prefer it.

  1. Document how chuck size influence efficiency. Reduce chunk size in

    Gisle Aas authored
    parse_file().
  2. Optimized by moving lookup of !$self->{'_strict_comment'} out of the

    Gisle Aas authored
    parser loop. I got a 5% speedup by this.
