GIPs

Gitcoin Improvement Proposals (GIPs) describe standards for the Gitcoin platform, including core protocol specifications, client APIs, community standards, and contract standards.

This process is a fork of Ethereum EIPs.

Discuss on Gitcoin Slack in the #community-GIPs channel.

Contributing

First review GIP-1. Then clone the repository and add your GIP to it. There is a template GIP here. Then submit a Pull Request to Gitcoin's GIPs repository.

GIP status terms

  • Draft - an GIP that is open for consideration
  • Accepted - an GIP that is planned for immediate adoption, i.e. expected to be included in the next hard fork (for Core/Consensus layer GIPs).
  • Final - an GIP that has been adopted in a previous hard fork (for Core/Consensus layer GIPs).
  • Deferred - an GIP that is not being considered for immediate adoption. May be reconsidered in the future for a subsequent hard fork.
