Anything new on this? Migration might be painful at first but this will be necessary long-term to have a maintainable (for team) and fast & functional (for users) in the long run.

From prior experience and for this type of app, if you're going down this path you'd probably want to just start with a server-side rendering option (using a framework like Next.js or Nuxt.js) instead of just a SPA.
