Sometimes, browser will include "]" character in links, forcing user to remove it manually. Parenthesis should prevent that.
Only get the first title/description, remove all newlines, remove all superfluous white space. In an ideal world this would not be needed but I have experienced many sites with newlines and spaces in their title tags along with multiple titles. Sometimes the title is in <body> as well. At the time of writing ello.co has 83 occurrences of </title> on its home page. See here for another great title example: http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/phones/nokia-105/
The presence of the brackets is inconsistent with the rest of the messages, and in some services it causes the residing url to break (as the closing parenthesis is seen as part of the url)
