I am experiencing this with the latest release v12.0.0. It is so distracting I disabled Gitlens.

I'm unable to repro the issue now even on Stable. Leaving the verification to @kevinneufeld

I am able to reproduce the issue on the stable version with an untracked and unstaged file, and can confirm this behaviour is fixed in the latest insiders edition version.

Instead of removing it altogether, why not provide info like - last modified time | untracked file

Just so that its consistent overall.
