It is possible that the R_HOME environmental variable is not being set properly (this is required to start the embedded R instance). For now, be sure you are using a properly edited copy of the runfirefox.sh script provided in the package to start firefox with the appropriate environtmental variables set (see installation instructions).

- Any uncaught (eg not inside a try or tryCatch call) R error will cause firefox to crash. This is not an issue with RFirefox, but rather with the embedding mechanism for the R engine, and as such is somewhat out of our control. In the future we may figure out a way around this, but for now it is advised that you wrap all R code being called from javascript/evaluated in javascript in tryCatch blocks.

It is likely you are running into a memory management issue with the javascript engine. We are trying to automate memory management as much as possible, so this should not happen unless you have chosen have altered the default behavior.

We know about this issue (there are tests in the test directory which currently fail do to this reason. We are working on the problem and will fix it as soon as possible.
