Hi,

When your JBrowse server is within the same domain (but different sub-domain) as a site it is embedded in it should be possible to use js to update the location provided the document.domain has been set to the same value.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Same-origin_policy#document.domain_property

For example

Jbrowse on cgp-jbrowse.internal.sanger.ac.uk
Wrapping site at canapps.sanger.ac.uk

Provided both have the following the

document.domain=sanger.ac.uk

Regards,
Keiran
