The section on Selectors ( http://tip.golang.org/ref/spec#Selectors ) has some examples of selectors and what (expanded) expression they stand for, but the section could be expanded or have more explanations, especially for receiver values passed to method invocations.

This is one of the most complex aspects of the language, both to explain and to implement and could use a bit more (or clearer) explanations.
