What version of Go are you using (go version)?

go version devel +c882f4b Tue Aug 14 20:40:15 2018 +0000 linux/amd64

Does this issue reproduce with the latest release?

Yes. Same result with go 1.10.2.

What operating system and processor architecture are you using (go env)?

Linux

What did you do?

go vet -h

What did you expect to see?

Something along the lines of:

usage: vet [-n] [-x] [build flags] [packages]

Vet runs the Go vet command on the packages named by the import paths.

For more about vet, see 'go doc cmd/vet'.
For more about specifying packages, see 'go help packages'.

To run the vet tool with specific options, run 'go tool vet'.

The -n flag prints commands that would be executed.
The -x flag prints commands as they are executed.

For more about build flags, see 'go help build'.

See also: go fmt, go fix.

What did you see instead?

This appears to be a side-effect of 62aeb77.

Thanks for the report - doesn't seem like a regression since 1.10, and we're very late in the cycle, so I'm going to mark this for 1.12 for now.
