runtime: Cleanup.Stop does not document whether it's idempotent #81789

Open

Description

@jech

Go version

go version go1.26.8 linux/amd64

Output of go env in your module/workspace:

Not relevant, but happy to provide.

What did you do?

The documentation of runtime/Cleanup.Stop does not specify whether it is fine to call it multiple times on the same finaliser.

What did you see happen?

I looked at the source. It looks to me like it is fine, but I'm not quite sure.

What did you expect to see?

A clear statement that says that calling Stop multiple times is equivalent to calling it once.
