could all these illumos-based opensolaris derivatives standardize on a single root
smartos uses /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt, which is also used by major Linux
and Solaris 11.2+ standardized on /etc/certs/ca-certificates.crt.

As someone who's campaigned for a few additions to this file over time I admit that my
tolerance for the unlimited number of locations that distros hide this file is exhausted.
I think if this bug is fixed in 1.5 some time should be spent to split out the slice of
locations to search to be platform specific. At least this puts the mess in smaller
