This project shows a minimal, standalone setup for using grpc-java with bazel.
bazel build //...
# start server
./bazel-bin/src/main/java/io/grpc/examples/helloworld/server
# (in different tab) start client
./bazel-bin/src/main/java/io/grpc/examples/helloworld/client
