I just saw Nuancier presented at LGM.

https://github.com/fedora-infra/nuancier/

It could be nice to make a font version, so people could vote on fonts to add to google fonts. Since Font Bakery is also Flask, perhaps they can be integrated more tightly.... @pypingou @ralphbean what do you think? :)

Neat.

What kind of integration?

  • People can vote on fonts in nuancier, not just images?
  • Nuancier can poll a font bakery instance for new font builds?

Well you have a thumbnail generator to put images into voting pages. So we'll need to make Font Bakery serve the fonts as web fonts (perhaps using a stub version of the Google Fonts API URL schema, and a https://developers.google.com/fonts/docs/developer_api stub too) to put fonts into voting pages.

Then we need to design how to present a 'gallery page' of the fonts to show them. @raphaelbastide presented https://github.com/raphaelbastide/ofont and @furter presented https://github.com/furter/specimen and @Innouveau made https://github.com/Innouveau/FontApp/ and there are certainly many others.... a few I know:

I think that makes sense

Nuancier can poll a font bakery instance for new font builds?

Thats what I mean with the API stuff
