2a0cda7 @gregkh usbview 1.1 release
1 version 1.1
2 - pretty icon (thanks to Bernhard).
3 - gtk 2.0 support (finally, after many people submitted patches
4 adding it, thanks for not letting me forget).
48fbf03 @gregkh usbview 1.0-bk release
5 - added "..." to About and Configure dialogs based on comments by
6 Emil Brink.
7 - added patch from Emil Brink <>
8 that fixed gtk warning when about dialog was displayed.
91a5830 @gregkh usbview 1.0
10 version 1.0
11 - fixed problem for devices that grabed more than one interface, the
12 name of the device would show up repeated a bunch. This was true
13 for a lot of audio and video devices.
14 - Tweaked the configuration dialog a bit.
15 - Tweaked the about dialog a bit.
16 - Everything seems stable, so let's put a major number on this release.
17 - added a pixmap hacked up from an image by M G Berberich
18 <> to the about screen
19 - cleaned up the spec file to hopefully build a bit better on
20 different versions of different distros.
35903be @gregkh usbview 0.9.0
22 version 0.9.0
23 - added Trond Eivind Glomsrød's patch to always try to populate the
24 device tree when the program is started.
25 - cleaned up the code layout, removing the i18n code for now. Also
26 got rid of some old Glade helper code that was not being used. This
27 reduced the tarball size by about 1/2!
28 - usbview now updates the device list when devices are plugged in or
29 removed from the bus automatically (needs 2.4.0-test8 or later to
30 work properly due to a patch I made for drivers/usb/inode.c to
31 enable this to work.)
32 - Made any device that does not have a driver associated with it, show
33 up in red in the device listing. This should help users with the
34 problem that "My device shows up properly in usbview, but it isn't
35 working," that a lot of people seem to have (it isn't obvious, I
36 know...)
37 - Added small, drab looking "About" dialog box, to make it easier to
38 determine which version this is.
c7b6b1e @gregkh usbview 0.8.1
40 version 0.8.1
41 - fixed the Gtk-WARNING that happens the first time you press the
42 [Refresh] button.
43 - sped up the device info display a bunch. Should work a lot better
44 for devices that have a lot of interfaces and endpoints.
45 - fixed #ifdef bug in code. Thanks to Trond Eivind Glomsrød for
46 noticing this and providing a patch.
47 - fixed improper speed display for low speed devices. Thanks to
48 Brad Hards for noticing this and prompting me to add support
49 for high speed USB (like there will not be other changes for
50 high speed when it happens...)
df4a395 @gregkh usbview 0.8.0 release
52 version 0.8.0
53 - Added ability to select where the devices file is located at.
54 This allows you to view a usbdevfs devices file that comes
55 from another user, for instance. It also accomidates those who
56 do not mount usbdevfs at /proc/bus/usb.
57 - Fixed bug with devices that have a lot of interfaces.
58 - Changed the tree widget to a different style.
59 - Restructured the internal code a bit nicer (a lot of work to
60 go with this...)
61 - Added a TODO file to the archive listing some potential changes
62 that could be done.
4485b13 @gregkh usbview 0.7.0 release
64 version 0.7.0
65 - the logic for determining the name of the device changed to
66 properly display the name of a keyboard or mouse when the
67 HID driver is used. This is needed for kernel versions 2.3.36
68 and up.
0a0a45d @gregkh usbview 0.6.0 release
70 version 0.6.0
71 - now can handle multiple root hubs.
72 - added display of bus bandwidth information for root hubs.
73 - added support for device strings to describe the device.
74 - made logic for device name to be smarter due to the availability
75 of the string descriptors.
bba30cc @gregkh usbview 0.5.0 release
77 version 0.5.0
78 - updated the parser to handle the fact that the interface now
79 dictates what driver is loaded.
80 - Tested on kernel version 2.3.29
88e4a86 @gregkh usbview 0.4.0 release
82 version 0.4.0
83 - redid the user interface slightly, making the tree always expanded,
84 showing the top of the text field, and better balancing the splitter
85 bar.
87 version 0.3.0
88 - changed the parsing to make it easier to handle any future changes
89 in the way the format of /proc/bus/usb/devices
fe5adfd @gregkh usbview 0.2.0 release
91 version 0.2.0:
92 - Configuration, interface, and endpoint data is now displayed
93 for each device.
94 - Fixed problem with processing the last line in the /proc/... file
95 twice.
821faab @gregkh usbview 0.1.0 release
97 Initial version 0.1.0:
98 - devices are read from /proc/bus/usb/devices and put into a tree view
99 - very basic information is displayed about each device when it is
100 selected
