iconThemeGetSearchPath returns garbage or corrupts memory

When i try to use iconThemeGetSearchPath in my app and print the result, i get

Cannot decode byte '\x90': Data.Text.Internal.Encoding.decodeUtf8: Invalid UTF-8 stream

I wrote a simple reproducer that just crashes:
