To a "human readable" color from http://lexadecimal.com/

No other reason than just because we can. These colors look good:

f055ae (fossae): A large nocturnal reddish-brown catlike mammal (Cryptoprocta ferox) of the civet family, found in the rain forests of Madagascar.

fe11a5 (fellas): chap: a boy or man; "that chap is your host"; "there's a fellow at the door"; "he's a likable cuss"; "he's a good bloke".

:-)

Yeah those look good.

Anyone wanna do the math to figure out which pink they have is closest to ours?

Saw this, and wrote a script to generate all the possible colors within a range around a given color code. I could further tweak it to lean towards certain hues, for now it just generates evenly.

Here is my output, tweaked a bit with a few definitions and groupings.
Ignore the horrible horrible markup. I just had a script generate it, and hacked it together, obviously it's not going up anywhere, just serves to show the colors...

The "diff" number you see, is how many notches off it is, tallied from all 3 sections.
I used the 1337-5p34k entry from wikipedia for my replacements, so some of them might not be as obvious and could just be ignored.

Thanks! I'll probably post the script up on github later just to do it. I wrote it in PHP so it's a little slow though. It basically has the logic to build all RGB combinations within a given variance from the original provided color, then does the number/letter replacements and checks each replacement against /usr/share/dict/words. It was fun to write though. I had to optimize it quite a bit ( again because of the PHP ) to even get it to finish in a decent amount of time :-p

👎 This change is silly and forces selection highlight to lose its consistency across the web.
