Silly IE9, liking only mp3 & wave. Refrained from adding wave format; usually .zipped & meant for downloading to be used by audio editors, very rarely used for live streaming, if ever.

WebM perhaps is uncommon as an audio format, but those encoding for WebM video might notice they can do audio also.

So there is no evidence any browser needs these. But I also dont see much harm in including them.

But why add the extra bloat if it's most probably not necessary? It should at least be tested that it's actually needed before being added in.

The .htaccess is loaded on every single request, so you don't want to bloat it too much:

Also, the .htaccess file is loaded every time a document is requested.
