I made the mistake of not reading the warning before doing the hardmod on my system and ended up bending the black flex cable clips ( #681 ). I have a new 3ds xl system.
My home button and mic were not working (bottom left clips).
I tried several different things to bend the clips back into place but it wasn't holding the bend, there's no room for enough bending.
What i ended up doing was just sticking a few layers of tape (thin, cut with scissors) on the non-contact sides of the flex cables. Everything is working fine now.

Another issue i fixed was the flex cable for the analog stick, i guess i bent it too hard somehow and there was a very tiny gap at one of the lines the connecting part of the flex cable. i tried soldering the gap, but then i couldn't push back the cable in the flex clip.
What i ended up doing was cutting the bad part of the flex cable with scissors (about 2-3mm in) and putting it back like that. It's working well now.

Hope someone finds this useful
