I'm trying to use catbox-memcached as caching provider in Hapi.
It works fine when the memcached server is running when I start the Hapi server, but when the memcached server is down on startup, the whole application freezes before starting the Hapi server.

What would you like to see happen in this case?

That's a good question and I guess the answer depends on how essential is the caching to the application.
In my case I would prefer to have the application running even without memcache and given that Hapi allows multiple providers, I can also add memory as fallsafe choice.

@hueniverse @nvcexploder @wpreul I believe the functionality that @aquilax would like is dependent on Hapi and/or catbox adding that functionality. Alternatively creating a multi-strategy catbox class that falls back to memory for instance.

The other issue here is that catbox-memcache isn't properly handling a down server and locking the Hapi server. I can take care of that bug asap.
