I would have done and edit and a pull, except I don't know which you prefer - the one in the header is a trimmed down version newly added with "Deprecated...", while the one in the cc body is the full older one.

I think in the long term, you want to put the full comment block in the header (and more public), considering that it is to be deprecated.

Please merge the two gobject comment blocks, one, either way.
