The first free download of BTLabel: a native Mac app for designing and printing labels on the Brother P-touch PT-P300BT over Bluetooth.
Install
- Download BTLabel-1.0.1.zip below and unzip it.
- Move BTLabel.app to your Applications folder.
- Open it. macOS asks once to confirm opening an app downloaded from the internet. The app is signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
- Pair your PT-P300BT in System Settings → Bluetooth, then click Status in BTLabel.
Requires macOS 26.5 or later.
Free edition vs. Mac App Store edition
| Free (this download) | Mac App Store | |
|---|---|---|
| Printing | Unlimited | 5 free prints, then a one-time $14.99 unlock |
| iCloud sync (favorites, folders, history, settings) | — stored on this Mac | ✅ |
| Updates | Download new releases here | Automatic |
Both editions have the same label designer. If you move to the App Store edition later, it uses the same app identity.
What's new in 1.0.1
- Reports printer errors instead of claiming success. BTLabel now waits for the printer to finish the label. If a problem happens mid-print, such as low batteries, you'll see it.
- More reliable reconnect after the printer is switched off and on.
- Help → Rate BTLabel.
