Scala swing exceptions pass by silently without anything printed out unless I set "fork in run := true". Is this by design? I was not able to gather that in the documentation. The docs made it seem like the exception was delegated to the original handler for user-created threads (like AWT-EventQueue-0).

Here's sample code:

HelloWorld.scala:

import swing._

object HelloWorld extends SimpleSwingApplication {
  def top = new MainFrame {
    title = "Hello, World!"
    contents = new Button {
      text = true.asInstanceOf[String]
    }
  }
}

build.sbt:

scalaVersion := "2.9.0-1"

libraryDependencies += "org.scala-lang" % "scala-swing" % "2.9.0-1"
