Browsing through the documentation I can't find anywhere explained how the physical machine and network switches deployments are being done.

For example here: http://www.terraform.io/docs/providers/index.html

[...] Examples of resources include physical machines, VMs, network switches, containers, etc. [...]

But there is no section for physical machines nor network switches in the list of providers.

Is it not available yet or am I looking in the wrong places?

Thank you.

It isn't available yet. Sorry for being unclear, that part of the documentation is talking about what Terraform is capable of, but not what is currently in existence. We're talking to a couple network vendors now about Terraform integration, but can't say much more than that atm. :)

I think this is still missing? I don't see a provider for "Physical machine" at all.

e.g. I have a computer sitting under my desk I want to provision with terraform.
It should just give me manual instructions "turn the thing on. install ubuntu 12.04. run XYZ"

This is false advertising when it says "Terraform is used to create, manage, and manipulate infrastructure resources. Examples of resources include physical machines,..." when it says "is used" it means it is currently being used, but as @mitchellh just admitted it doesn't work at the moment. Please reword your documentation, I have looked around vainly for documentation on how to configure physical machines as well but to no avail because it is in fact not used to manipulate physical machines...
