What is the docs issue?

With remote state, Terraform writes the state data to a remote data store, which can then be shared between all members of a team. Terraform supports storing state in HCP Terraform, HashiCorp Consul, Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage, Alibaba Cloud OSS, and more.

Proposal

I expect links will direct to an example which shows how to store state there instead to the main site of the tool, which gives nothing.

For future docs authors: Consul state is currently unmaintained per CODEOWNERS. We should remove this reference.

I am split on HCP Terraform. I understand that you need a basic understanding of HCP Terraform to move on to storing state with HCP Terraform, but I also agree that landing the user on a purely marketing page is very confusing. One problem I see is that the https://developer.hashicorp.com/terraform/cli/cloud docs do not link back to https://www.hashicorp.com/products/terraform/ at any point! Including this link might help make the trail to getting more information about HCP Terraform more relevant and accessible.

Meanwhile, check out https://developer.hashicorp.com/terraform/enterprise and what happens once you start clicking around for HCP Terraform -- the user never leaves a documentation page experience. If we think this is OK for Enterprise, should we use the same strategy above? e.g. link HCP Terraform links to https://developer.hashicorp.com/terraform/cloud-docs.
