quoting appendix N.1 'New Features' from the OpenGL 3.0 spec:
"Fine control over mapping buffer subranges into client space and flushing modified data (GL APPLE flush buffer range)."

Implemented in Laar@00539ad, it was basically a copy paste from the non ranged variant. I didn't test it.
